70m Ski Mat Installed

Ski Mat replacement is now complete!

Stay up to date with our latest project developments.

Ski Mat Replacement
Great news! Our shiny, brand new 70m ski mat is up and running – all electrical work and safety hatches are in place. No longer will you need to take a leisurely stroll up the slope, you can enjoy a gentle ride up to the top of the beginners slope or to the top of the temporary Snow Tubing track.

Snow Tubing
Our temporary snow tubing track is located on the northern side of the slope, and is currently in place and ready for some fun filled sliding action. The snow tubing track will remain on the northern side of the slope until early November when the Winter Wonderland is completed, and the tubing tracks within this area are ready.

Wall décor / skiing of the snow dome
The addition of the new décor on the southern side of the snow dome is now complete until we bring in scaffolding to finish the remaining panels. This means from Monday 23rd September the sign writing team will be moving up to the top of the dome and starting on the back wall. The installation of décor on the back wall will not cause any disturbances to normal lift operation.

Winter Wonderland
This Thursday evening Stop Digging NZ will be back in to install some more footings under the snow for the Winter Wonderland facades to be attached to. This is a large job which requires the snow to be dug up, scraped away, footings to be installed and snow laid back over the top. Due to the requirements of this job it means the southern lift will remain closed for all Friday 27th September. The southern lift will be operational again in time for Saturday morning.
