Snowplanet was founded in March 2005. We are the only indoor snow dome in the southern hemisphere and our vision is to be Auckland’s favourite leisure destination.

Rentals Attendant (part time)

First impressions are what your role is all about. You are responsible for meeting and greeting all guests and customers to Snowplanets Hire Centre. You will use opening questioning techniques to identify customer’s needs, and will advise and provide access to the best products to suit. Providing outstanding customer service, your communication skills will be excellent. You will have the knowledge and experience to communicate professionally and efficiently at all times. You will have an great eye for detail, to ensure all guests requirements are met, and can foresee any possible issues before these impact our guests. You will enjoy a fast paced environment, and will be able to strive in an area with continual changes

You must be flexible in your approach to work, and have the capacity to multi task. You must be able to work under your initiative and be able to problem solve. As part of our Rentals Team, you will work closely with our Guest Service Team, to ensure the smooth running of the Resort.

 


Restaurant Attendants (part time)

The Restaurant Attendant is responsible for ensuring all our guests enjoy their Snowplanet experience. Providing outstanding customer service, your communication skills will be excellent. You will be customer driven, and will use your knowledge and experience to communicate professionally and efficiently in person, and over the phone. You will have a great eye for detail, to ensure all guests orders are correct, and can foresee any possible issues before these impact our guests. You will enjoy a fast paced environment, and will be able to strive in an area with continual changes.

You will be able to work on a rostered basis including in evenings and weekends.

You must be flexible in your approach to work, and have the capacity to multi task. You must be able to work under your own initiative and be able to problem solve. As part of our 7 Summits Team, you will work closely with our Food and Beverage Manager, Head Chef, Restaurant Supervisors and Restaurant and Kitchen teams, to ensure the smooth running of the restaurant.

 


Restaurant Supervisor (part time)

The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all our guests enjoy their Snowplanet experience and that each service shift is run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for training and coaching the food and beverage team ensuring a high level of service delivery is maintained at all times. You will oversee all cashiering functions and be actively involved in the training of all aspects of front of house service including overseeing our responsibilities for the sale and supply of alcohol. Providing outstanding customer service, your communication skills will be excellent. You will have the knowledge and experience to communicate professionally and efficiently in person, over the phone and via email. You will have a great eye for detail, to ensure all guests orders are correct, and can foresee any possible issues before these impact our guests. You will enjoy a fast paced environment, and will be able to strive in an area with continual changes.

You will have prior experience in operations, and will be able to work on a rostered basis including in evenings and weekends. You will use your people skills to build and lead the restaurant team to great standards, leading by example every day.

Maintenance Night Shift (full time)

You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Foreman in supporting the day to day operations of the business. You will be responsible for the maintenance of the Snowplanet facility. You will be key in insuring there are no disruptions to the business that impact on its functionality and operations. You will primarily be based in the cold side, making and grooming snow, completing lift repairs, and overseeing the plant room, but will also be responsible for completing work in the warm side to keep all areas in great working order. You will assist in the planning and delivery of an appropriate range of cost saving initiatives, and implementing programs to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness. Providing outstanding team work, your communication skills will be excellent. You will have a great eye for detail, to ensure all tasks are completed correctly, and can foresee any possible issues before these impact our operations. You will be proactive in resolving any issues, and will own these through to resolution. You will enjoy a fast paced environment, and will be able to strive in an area with continual changes. You will enjoy physical work, and will be fit and able to complete hands on work.

As part of our Maintenance Team, you will work closely with our Maintenance Manager and Foreman, to ensure a seamless customer journey.

 


Snow Patrol (part time)

Customer interaction is what this role is all about. You will be addressing customer questions and queries out on the snow slope. Your key focus is to ensure our snow slope remains a safe and fun place for all participants. Using your Snowsports experience, you will address any health and safety concerns prior to a customer’s inexperience or over exuberance leading to an accident where the participant or another may require medical attention. You will provide outstanding customer service, and your communication skills will be excellent. You will have the knowledge and experience of dealing with difficult situations, and remain professional in all tasks. You will have a great eye for detail, and be pro-active in addressing any concerns.

You must be flexible in your approach to work, and have the capacity to multi task. You must be able to work under your initiative and be able to problem solve. As part of our Snow Patrol Team, you will work closely with our Rentals and Duty Manager Teams, to ensure the snow dome remains a safe enjoyable place.

 


Ski and Snowboard instructors (casual)

You are responsible for planning and delivering an appropriate range of lessons and programs for individuals and groups. You will use opening questioning techniques to identify customer’s abilities, and will tailor your lessons to suit; teaching the relevant skills and techniques to Ski and Board School customers. Providing outstanding customer service, your communication skills will be excellent. You will be a people person with extensive knowledge and experience in snow sports. You will enjoy a fast paced environment, and will be able to strive in an area with continual changes. You will be passionate about snow sports, and strive to share this with your clients.

You must be flexible in your approach to work, and have the capacity to multi task. You must be able to work under your own initiative and be able to problem solve. As part of our Ski and Board School Team, you will work closely with our Resort Team, to ensure a seamless customer journey.

An NZSIA/SBINZ qualification (or overseas equivalent) is desirable as is the ability to speak in languages other than English.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Auckland until end of October
  • Available on weekends and school holidays, availability after school is a bonus
  • Strong skiing or snowboarding skills
  • Ideally NZSIA/ SBINZ Level 1 (or similar) or higher
  • Non-qualified can apply if over 16 years

Requirements

  • Must be based in Auckland until end of August
  • Available for evening and weekend coaching sessions
  • Prior racing experience or current race qualification
  • 18 years or older preferred
