What To Wear
It is a very chilly -5 degrees in the snow dome, so wrap the kids up nice and warm by following our friendly advice:

We recommend that the children wear a waterproof outer layer of clothing, preferably a ski jacket and pants. Underneath the waterproof layer, wear at least two layers of warm clothing, thermals are recommended. We highly recommend kids wear a beanie to help keep them warm. Rental Clothing (Jacket & Pants) is available to hire at a cost of $11 for one item or $19 for both the jacket and pants.

A good pair of warm and waterproof snow gloves are essential to ensure enjoyment on the snow. Gloves are available to hire at a price of $9 per pair. Alternatively we have gloves available for purchase from $24.99 per pair.

It is important that each person brings their own socks. They are essential when wearing our ski and snowboard boots for comfort and hygiene reasons. If you require socks on the day, we have a limited selection available for purchase at a cost of $29.99 per pair.

Footwear (ski or snowboard boots) is included for all of the Kids Party Packages, so this is something to cross off your ‘worry’ list. However if parents or other adults are wanting to go in the snow there will be an extra charge for Boot hire.

Helmets are compulsory for all children skiing or snowboarding at Snowplanet. Helmets are included within the ‘Freeride’ package and the ‘Snow Sports’ package. If children do have their own helmets they are most welcome to bring them along instead.

Goggles are not required during your visit to Snowplanet.

Can we have a birthday party with less than six children?
Unfortunately, the minimum number of children required for a Snowplanet Kids Party Package is six children. If there are less than six children on the day, this is no problem, however a minimum of six children will be charged for.

Can we have the ‘Snowplay’ Kids Party Package during the weekend?
Due to safety and slope restrictions, ‘Snowplay’ Kids Party Packages are only available on weekdays from 10am-2pm (excluding School and Public Holidays) as they share the learners slope with skiers and snowboarders. However, our ‘Snow Tubing’ Kids Party Package is suitable for children of all ages (the younger children love it!) and is available at any time within our operning hours.

Can adults go on the snow with the children?
One adult receives a free Snow Pass with each of the Kids Party Packages (excluding Rental Equipment). Rental Equipment (skis or snowboard and boots) can be purchased at a price of $35. Adults are responsible for supervising their children on the snow at all times. Extra adults are permitted entry to supervise and assist children, however if adults wish to participate in the activity our normal charges will apply.

Is there somewhere to store our gear while we are on the snow?
We reserve an appropriate number of tables for you in the Snowplanet restaurant 45 minutes prior to the birthday celebration meal and then for 1hr for the party meal itself. We are happy for you to keep your bags and other gear at your tables during that time but we will need you to remove everything from the party area after the time allotted due to other birthday party bookings requiring that space.  You are free to keep your gear at any other table you choose to sit at outside the party area if someone remains in the restaurant to supervise it. Alternatively, we have lockers available for hire at a cost of $5 for three hours, or $7 for the entire day.”

Can we bring our own cake?
Yes, you certainly can! The ‘Kids Party’ team here at Snowplanet love to see the effort, creativity and hard-work that goes into the creation of the amazing birthday cakes that we see, so please feel free to bake up a storm and bring your marvellous creation with you. Alternatively, delicious Snowplanet Chocolate Birthday Cakes are available for purchase at a cost of $40 each. These need to be ordered at least 7 days in advance of the booking.

Can the kids swap between skiing and snowboarding?
The ‘Snow Sports’ Package provides kids with an instructor who will help them on their way to developing new skills quickly and efficiently within the 2 hours. It is not recommended for kids taking part in this party to switch between skiing and snowboarding. Children who have a ‘Freeride’ Party Package CAN swap between skiing and snowboarding. We completely support the notion that kids should try out both disciplines to ensure they have the best time possible!

Where will the kids have their party meal?
The kids will have their party meal at a specially reserved table in the Snowplanet Restaurant & Bar. The table will be beautifully themed with party hats, balloons and table decorations, not to mention a birthday badge for the birthday child!

Can we bring glitter or confetti to decorate the tables or the Snow Cave?
No. We do not allow glitter or confetti at Snowplanet due to the process of completely removing it again. Glitter and confetti generally cannot be vacuumed up completely with our standard cleaning procedures and requires additional commercial cleaners. Should you bring any sort of glitter or confetti you will be charged a $150 commercial cleaning fee. This will need to be paid before you leave.
