Liam Richards

An update from a Snowplanet Sponsored Athlete touring the Northern Hemi

Liam started with six weeks of training in Films LAAX where he spent some time cleaning up his jumps and working on his rails. The past two weeks he has been at Leysin (Switzerland) to compete at the Junior World Championships. He reports it was a fantastic experience, he was one of two competitors born in 2008, and this is the first year he is allowed to enter the competition. There were even some Olympians from 2022 there! He loved to see the level of competition and to be competing alongside them.

In the Halfpipe he finished 17th overall. In Big Air he came 7th in his heat, just missing out on finals by one spot. Unfortunately, in Slopestyle, he did not manage to put down a run, but he still enjoyed the experience and is looking forward to competing again next year.

Liam is now back in LAAX for 10 days and a FIS Halfpipe and Slopestyle competition, then heading off to Livigno (Italy) for 3 weeks of airbag training. After Livigno, he is heading home to New Zealand.

Good luck for the rest of your travels Liam, we’re rooting for you at Snowplanet!
